Who Successor Rossi?

With age continues to grow dusk, Valentino Rossi had a potential successor should be able to continue the great names in Italian MotoGP event. In fact, the Italian rider-rider actually shrinking in number in the 2012 season.

Based on the entry list that has been released for three classes of the FIM Grand Prix (MotoGP, GP2 and GP3) 2012 season, there are 13 total recorded just rider from Italy who will berparisipasi. The amount is even already included Alex de Angelis of San Marino is the original, a small state in Italy.

For the MotoGP class, Italy will be represented four racers. They are Andrea Dovizioso (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), Valentino Rossi (Ducati Team), Michele Pirro (San Carlo Honda Gresini) and Danilo Petrucci (Ioda Racing). Two Italian racer who participated in 2011 but disappeared this season is Loris Capirossi who decided to retire and Marco Simoncelli who died in the crash in Sepang.

Italy counted lucky to have four drivers in this most prestigious class, because the latter two names (Michele Pirro and Danilo Petrucci) will appear as a representative team of CRT (Claiming Rule Teams) are newly introduced this season. Since 2000, Italy only sent at least three drivers in a single season in 500cc/MotoGP class (2006 and 2007), while most are six-rider (2005 and 2009).
