Who Pirro? He is a 25-year-old rider from Italy who competed in the 2011 season with the team Moriwaki Moto2. In the second season in Moto2, he once won the race and finish in ninth position of the final standings.
"I am pleased to have made this decision and proud to join with Gresini in this exciting new adventure," Pirro said as quoted by Autosport.
"It's not an easy decision because previously I wanted to improve my appearance in Moto2 of results I can in 2011," he continued.
Like Bautista, Pirro will race on the RC213V motor by using a new season that marks the start of the race 1000cc era.
